Set a reading-time budget (1–20 minutes) and a reading speed (150–300 WPM). As you type, the clock counts down how much time your content would take to read. A progress bar and stat pills show written words, used time, remaining time, and words left. When you approach your limit, the clock turns amber; when you exceed it, it turns red.

What are the preset targets?
Quick presets for common formats: 1 min (Email / LinkedIn post), 3 min (Short blog post), 5 min (Standard article), 7 min (Long-form post), 10 min (Deep-dive / guide), 15 min (Comprehensive post). Click any preset to set the budget instantly.

What happens when I go over my budget?
The clock turns red and the status line shows how much you're over. The progress bar fills beyond 100%. You can either trim your text, increase the budget, or accept that your content will take longer to read. The tool never stops you from writing.

Can I set a custom word budget instead of time?
Not directly, but the tool converts your time budget to words automatically based on your selected WPM. For example, 3 minutes at 225 WPM = 675 words. Adjust the time or WPM sliders to hit your target word count.

Is the word count updated in real-time?
Yes. Stats update live as you type — no need to press a button. The clock, progress bar, and all stat pills refresh instantly. Auto-save also stores your text to localStorage every few seconds.
