How does Content Comparison work?
Paste two versions of your text into the A and B panels. The tool automatically calculates and compares: word count, reading time, sentence count, average sentence length, grade level (Flesch-Kincaid), and reading ease score. A verdict panel highlights which version wins each metric, with ties within 3% shown in green. Learn about reading level →
+
What metrics are compared?
Six metrics: Words, Read Time (at 225 WPM), Sentences, Avg Sentence Length, Grade Level, and Reading Ease. Delta cards show the percentage difference for each metric, color-coded: blue if A wins, orange if B wins, green for ties.
+
How is the winner decided?
The tool compares each metric individually. The version with the better score wins that category — lower grade level is better, higher reading ease is better, fewer words depends on your goal. Differences within 3% are treated as ties. The verdict summary at the bottom declares an overall winner based on total wins.
+
Can I see a line-by-line diff?
Yes. Click the diff --side-by-side button to see a line-level comparison. Lines present in both texts are shown in normal text, lines removed from Draft A appear in red, and lines added in Draft B appear in green. Use this to spot exactly what changed between revisions.
+
How do I compare two versions of the same draft?
Paste your original into Draft A and your revision into Draft B. Or use the Clone button (cp content-a.txt → content-b.txt) to copy Draft A into B, then edit B directly. The verdict panel will show which version is more readable, and the diff view will highlight exactly what changed.
+
Can I export a report?
Yes. Click the export button to generate a Markdown report (
comparison-report.md) with a table of all metrics, the verdict, and the full text of both versions. You can also copy both texts to clipboard or download them as a combined text file.
+
Can I compare more than two texts?
Not in a single comparison. The tool is designed for A/B testing two drafts at a time. For multiple versions, run separate comparisons between pairs. Analyze sentence rhythm →
